I’ll be bringing you a video soon of a new song I’m planning for my new Kickstarter project. With the right donation, you’ll get the opportunity to pick the title for this piece. In my new CD, I’m really exploring Spanish and Latin rhythms, what the Cubans call claves. Sometimes I like pretending I’m strumming the guitar although it’s always the piano.

Okay it’s day 2

Kickstarter continues today. I got my first donor, so the game has started but it’s an all or nothing fundraiser, so I’m hoping to gain some momentum this week. It’s like looking at a distant goal seeing the mountain and remembering to just take one step at a time.

I take refuge in the words of The Gita chapter 3:30:

Do your duty, dedicating all work to me, in a spiritual frame of mind, free from desire, attachment and mental grief.

(Easier said than done). I try to keep calm when it takes me 30 minutes to figure out how to do something I think should be so easy in blogging!

The Night Before

So it’s the night before my launch of my Kickstarter project, Help Get Adrian Back To Carnegie.

I’m not sure what to expect. It feels like I’m kind of jumping off a tall building and letting the wind take me where I need to go. I’m asking friends and colleagues for help. And of course I have no idea what people will be able to give!

I’m trying to raise funds to record a new CD in New York as well as production costs for the Carnegie Recital Hall Concert. That’s just the financial side of it. Equally importantly, I’m giving everyone a chance to help build this project, from getting mentioned on the CD to actually commissioning a piece. It’s a new idea for me.

I’ve put a lot into presenting a coherent and realistic project but if there’s something you think I need to include or clarify, please let me know!

My life goal is to share my music with you. Whether it’s mastering someone else’s music, composing, playing piano or teaching. And that’s what I’m doing with my Kickstarter project. I invite you to be a part of it all.
